G-string Upsets Rachel

Rachel was shocked when her fiancé was sent a G-string in the post. Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards revealed it caused a bust-up between them. He said it was sent by an obsessive female fan who described what she wanted him to do to her.

Edwards told Company magazine: “The letter was really rude – this woman had written down everything she wanted to do to me, along with her phone number. I got in real trouble with Rachel – what are the odds of that happening after seven years of nothing but really tame fan mail?”

The former Hollyoaks star said most fans had written to say how happy they are that he has found love with Stevens. Edwards also told of how he made his marriage proposal – and revealed that he only chose Valentine’s Day because they both had days off work.

“I didn’t get her a ring because I know girls like to choose that sort of thing themselves, but I did buy Rachel some diamond earrings,” he said. “I was going to give them to her and then after the meal give her a card in which I’d written ‘marry me’. But in the end my heart was leaping out of my chest as soon as we got into the room (of the Dorchester Hotel) and I couldn’t wait.

“As she opened the card I got down on one knee and said ‘Will you marry me? I want you to be my wife.’ She said yes and gave me a hug – I was shaking like a leaf.”
