Jo puts on brave face
Ex-pop star Jo O’Meara has stepped out in public for the first time since the controversy of the Big Brother race row.
The former S Club 7 singer attended a charity gala show in aid of Comic Relief.
Jo smiled broadly for the paparazzi as she arrived at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London to see Rik Mayall as Alan B’Stard in The New Statesman.
“Comic Relief has always been important to me, it’s something I’ve always done, as a band with S Club, and while solo. It’s a nice thing to get involved with,” she said.
She claimed that there had been no racist behaviour towards Indian star Shilpa Shetty in the house and that the outrage had been sparked by bad editing.
Hoping to put the experience behind her, she said: “I think it’s time for me to move on, and concentrate on getting back to work, and I hope the public will feel the same way.”
