Still Number One?

Previously unknown R&B artist Daniel Bedingfield is set to knock S Club 7 off top spot on this week’s UK singles chart, according to today’s midweek charts.

However, a spokesman for HMV told that though Bedingfield has started very strongly, he may lack the mainstream appeal to keep S Club 7 from having a two-week run at the top.

PPK are currently at Number Three with their dance track ‘Resurrection’, while Hear’say’s promotional overdrive seems to have stalled, leaving their new effort, ‘Everybody’, at fourth.

S Club 7 are also on course to enter the UK albums chart with their new ‘Sunshine’, but only at Number 3 with Robbie Williams at number one, followed by Blue at two.
