The Boys On Drugs, Sex And Fame

Jon LeeJon

Embarrassed Jon Lee has spoken for the first time about being caught smoking cannabis – and has vowed never to touch drugs again. The 19-year-old says: “It was a one-off. I don’t think cannabis should be legalised and I won’t ever be having it again.

“We know we made a mistake but we apologised straight away and I think people respected that. “Our fans really stuck by us and we got a lot of support from them. “We never arrived and said, ‘Hello we’re S Club 7, we’re squeaky clean.’ This image was bestowed on us because that is what we looked like. We are seven normal kids. “But we know we did wrong and we regret it.”

Despite his tender age, Jon certainly takes the job seriously – and has even turned down relationships because of it. He claims: “I don’t have a love life. I’m so busy at the moment – I haven’t had a relationship the whole time I have been in S Club. “I feel I don’t have enough time to think about myself and my family, let alone someone else.”

Phone Call from TeenZone.dk

teenzone

TeenZone grabbed the phone and called Jon to hear how everything was going.

How are you?

I’m really fine. Right now I’m sitting in my hotel room and I’m going to do interviews the whole day, so everything is nice and quiet. But I must honestly admit that I’m looking forward to get going again. It can be fun to do interviews, but I enjoy standing on stage or filming even more.

When are you going to start making new episodes?

We begin in a couple of weeks. Then we are going back to LA – back to the heat. I really love it. Even though it’s hard filming all day, you can always go out and have fun in the evening. And we have also met a lot of people there who has become our friends.

I’m looking forward to seeing them again, of course.

The Snow Must Go On!

Paul skis backwards, Rachel still wants to strip off and Brad wants Gucci earmuffs. Brrr, it must be winter…

S Club 7

What was your best winter ever?

Bradley: We used to go down the park with our sleds. We’d ride ‘em for hours and have ace snow fights.

Hannah: When I was 16, I spent Christmas in London with five really good friends. It was so magical, London is lovely at Christmas.

Rachel: Every winter is the best. I love the smell of Christmas – that’s what reminds me of winter. That and just doing the whole family thing.

Tina: The best Christmas I had was with Lionel Blair. I was a dancer and we had so much fun.

TOTP Interrogates Jon and Hannah

Jon Lee and Hannah SpearrittHow do the S Clubbers cope with only two of them to handle our tough Interrogates challenge? HANNAH and JON, step up and bite the bullet

Hannah, explain the dating rumours about Paul Dalglish from Norwich City and the fact you’ve been quoted as supporting Ipswich Town and Liverpool?

Hannah: What’s going on? A misunderstanding is what’s going on here. Um, people reading into things when there’s nothing to read. There’s nothing going on with me and Paul Dalglish whatsoever. I went to see a Norwich and Villa match, and obviously cos I’m from Yarmouth I’m gonna be cheering Norwich on.

Chill Out!

The S Club party hard and they work even harder, but how do the Clubsters unwind and take it easy?

Jo O'MearaSo what do you do to chill out?

Jo: I know this doesn’t sound v. cool, but I go down the bingo! I love it and it really relaxes me. You always have a laugh with a few mates at the bingo.

Tina: It’s the simple things really for us, ’cause we’re rushing around so much. You just wanna laze around and do nothing.

Rachel: Yeah, exactly – like for me it would be staying in and watching EastEnders!

Bradley: I put my headphones on, slip a smooth CD into my Discman, close my eyes and drift off!

Jon: He’s so lucky that he can do that! It takes me much longer to relax. I’ve been trying loadsa things like deep breathing and listening to chill-out music. Eventually I always drop off, tho’!

Hannah: I’d go out with my mates – that’s when I’m at my most relaxed, when I’m out partying!

Paul: You are so strange!

Kiss & Tell

Kiss and tellHave you ever snogged in a really surreal place?

Hannah: The weirdest was probably in a laundry room on top of a table, while my under wear was spinning around in a washing machine! Oh, and I snogged on one of those simulator machines, too. It was a roller coaster ride that shot off in to space, and we were the only ones inside. Heh-heh!

Tina: Mine was a public toilet but it was clean, I hasten to add. It was the girl’s loo of this bar and it was actually out of order but we broke into it. It was with my ex-boyfriend and I was supposed to be working. I don’t know if I’d say toilet snogging is romantic, but certainly was passionate!

Jo: Mine was under a bridge near where I used to live. It was actually really disgusting cos it was really cold and wet, and we hardly had any room at all. I wouldn’t advise it.

Tina: Dear Diary…

Tina BarrettFirst things first!

My character in the show isn’t the real me! I’m a lot more chilled and I’m not bossy at all. I was given that role cos I guess I was the easiest person to choose – being the oldest, it’s more believable. In a stereotypical way, I’m supposed to be much wiser or whatever. In the second series, I’m moulding the part much more to my personality but the first series? Urgh! I hated it! I used to watch it and cringe. It was awful! Thankfully I like my character now.

No regrets

Oh, I’ve got loads of regrets but I think that’s part of growing up. You need to make mistakes to learn – you know, live and learn! At the end of the day, if I didn’t have regrets, I wouldn’t be where I am today – in S Club. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!

Rachel: Dear Diary…

Rachel StevensBear necessities

I’ve got a little teddy bear that I always carry around with me. He’s called Squiggles and my mum bought him for me just before we went away. He’s an autographed teddy – all my family and friends have signed him! I’ve also got a little beanie bear called hope.

Home alone

I do need my own space but then again, I’m a people person and I like to have a lot of people around me as well. I love just sitting in my room at night with a cup of tea, chilling out, listening to music with some candles on. At the moment I’m reading a book by Jane Greene and it’s beside my bed. She’s had about four books out now and I used to work for her dad. I read her first book, Straight Talking, and cos I know her, I find it really interesting to follow her career.
