Biography

Music really is Bradley McIntosh’s first love. “I’ve been hooked since the moment I picked up a pair of drum sticks when I was four,” says Bradley, who was born into a musical family (his parents were in 80s soul band the Cool Notes and are both still in the music business). Neither Mum or Dad pushed me into this though,” he continues. “I just instantly knew that this was what I wanted to do.”

Taking inspiration from Michael Jackson (who remains one of his musical heroes), Bradley formed his first band, Crisp, with his sister and cousin in his early teens, before joining S Club. But despite the group’s often gruelling schedule, his idea of relaxation is spending time in the recording studio he has at home. “Making music really is my way of unwinding. While we’re away, I have all these ideas floating through my head, so I try to remember them and take them home with me,” he confesses. “Besides, I won’t be satisfied until I’ve written a Number One Hit. That’s my ultimate dream.”

Bradley puts S Club’s success down to the mix of cultures in the group. “We all come from completely different backgrounds and have had very different upbringings, so each of us is able to bring something unique to S Club.” He also attributes the band’s continued good fortune to the fact that S Club’s principal aim is to make people happy. “That’s what we’re all about,” says the man with the 24/7 smile.

A self-confessed ladies man, his fondness for the opposite sex got Bradley the sack from his first job in Pizza Hut, (“I couldn’t help chatting to the beautiful women who came in!”). But this was a blessing in disguise as he won a part in S Club very soon after.

“I bring a little bit of r’n'b, soul and street to S Club,” he says. “Am I an attention seeker? No, not really, but I do love performing, so this really is a dream come true.”
