Summer is ending. Allston Christmas is on the horizon. It’s a time of transition in Boston, so hit pause with us. We are the Boston.com Music Club. Each month, we invite you to join us as we spotlight Boston’s vast music scene, showcasing a diverse array of local acts.

  • Meeting with Thalia Zedek and Chris Brokaw from Come

  • Everything you need to know about the Boston.com Music Club

On Wednesday August 17, Music Club meets and welcomes Come. Or, more specifically, Come’s Thalia Zedek and Chris Brokaw. As Boston artists, Zedek and Brokaw are kings of rock and Come are a legendary band. This is not hyperbole; these are facts.

Come formed in Boston in 1990 and released their first single, “Car”, in 1991 as part of the Sub Pop Singles Club. Their first album, 11:11, came a year later on Matador Records. They spent the ’90s as one of Boston’s most critically acclaimed rock bands and were tapped to open for Nirvana, Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. This year, the band are celebrating the release in good and due form of their unreleased album. Peeling sessions. I’ve loved this band for years and I’m glad we have them in session.

This is the part where I introduce myself, as I am your Music Club host. My name is Adam 12 and I’m on the air from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays on Boston’s ROCK 92.9. ROCK 92.9 is not my first radio rodeo. I worked at legendary Boston alt-rock stations WBCN and WFNX in the 90s and 2000s, and I’m also a Boston.com veteran. You may remember RadioBDC, Boston’s first alternative streaming radio station? I was there, chairing some pretty amazing sessions over the years with both local and national acts. I try to bring that energy to Music Club, and having Come as a guest should make it easier for me.

Speaking of which, look this space for upcoming events, artist profiles, and more, and Join us for Come on Wednesday, August 17 at 7 p.m.
