South Shore Folk Music Club Announces Live Zoom Open Mic Series

DUXBURY — The South Shore Folk Music Club at First Parish Duxbury, 842 Tremont St., has announced its 2021-22 Live Zoom Open Mic series from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Sept. 23.

The South Shore Folk Music Club at First Parish Duxbury will celebrate its 43rd anniversary this season as a non-profit, all-volunteer folk music club. The club’s mission is to bring national and local artists of folk, roots and American music to the community.

The schedule will follow the format of two monthly events. The dates currently scheduled for the Live Zoom Open Mic series are: September 23, October 7 and 21, and November 4.

The South Shore Folk Music Club at First Parish Duxbury Live Zoom Open Mic Series will offer a song circle format for artists on Zoom, with each artist taking turns playing a song, using multiple rounds to end the evening. All musical styles of interpretation, as well as poetry, are welcome. All levels and all ages of musical performers are accepted. It is not necessary to register in advance for the performances. The Live Zoom Open Mic Series will remain open during the performance for other artists and guests to join the song circle.

The South Shore Folk Music Club at First Parish Duxbury has postponed scheduled live concerts to Spring 2022. This decision is based on CDC and state COVID-19 recommendations to postpone or cancel large events or gatherings not essential to help prevent transmission. Plans for the 2022 concerts are as follows: Porch Party Mamas; Danielle Miraglia, Lisa Bastoni and Monica Rizzio; and Honeysuckle.
