Formed in 2009 by a group of klezmer specialists eager to explore the nearly lost tradition of Jewish Eastern European wedding music, the group (consisting of violin, clarinet, piano accordion and double bass) was quickly covered by some of the world’s biggest folk and music promoters – Songlines Magazine, Continental Drifts and The Magpie’s Nest have provided stages for its unique combination of artistry and exuberance.
The band members are also in demand on various musical stages around the world and beyond, recording and touring with The Indigo Girls (USA), Sinead O’Connor (Ireland), Natacha Atlas (Egypt), She’Koyokh (UK ) and Ahmed Mukhtar (Iraq).
Songlines Magazine said it was a “fantastic sound with inventive arrangements, virtuosity, thrilling original tunes and soulful playing”. In the context of disturbing world news, it will be a morale-boosting event and an appropriate accompaniment to the arrival of spring.
