Wellsboro Game Club to Host Outdoor and Indoor Filming This Game Season | Life

Wellsboro, PA – Hunters and shooters, join the Nessmuk Rod and Gun Club to celebrate this season. The club will host an outdoor deer shooting on Sunday November 7th and a series of indoor training shots starting Tuesday November 9th.

Running deer shooting

This Sunday, November 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, the Nessmuk Rod and Gun Club is hosting its second running deer shooting at the club’s outdoor shooting range at 4646 Route 287, 6.5 miles south of Wellsboro in Delmar Township. Club members and the public are invited to participate.

The third and final shoot will take place on Sunday, November 14.

The shooter with the highest score in the last round this Sunday will win a frozen turkey. A special round for youth aged 17 and under will also take place and whoever scores the highest score will win a gift certificate from Cooper’s Sporting Goods to Mansfield.

The running deer paper target is attached to a four foot by three foot wooden frame that is mounted on wheels on a cable. The target is shot along the cable from left to right 100 meters from the firing range. Only one shooter is allowed to be on the shooting range per pass. Safety equipment and eye and ear protection are required to participate.

Registration will take place before each round of shooting.

The entry fee is $ 2 per pass with a limit of two strokes per pass. The costs will be shared with 50 percent going to the shooter with the highest score per round and the remaining 50 percent going to the club.

Indoor shots

On Tuesday, November 9, the Nessmuk Rod and Gun Club will begin staging rifle and handgun fire at its indoor range. The shoots are open to members and the public and will end on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

The fees are $ 3 for members and $ 5 for non-members.

Handgun fire will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 16, 23 and 30. Any caliber of handgun can be used as long as the bullet is lead or plaster; no brass or jacketed ammunition is permitted. Each handgun shooter will receive five targets for 10 rounds each.

The rifle shootings will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 18 and 25. Only those with .22 caliber rifles will be allowed to shoot at the indoor range and will each be given a target with 10 bulleyes.

The club’s indoor shooting range is heated and has seven indoor shooting stations.
